Known as El Portón Rojo (The Red Gate), this oil painting by Teodorico Quirós was originally named Finca Víquez. The artist depicts the colorful entrance of a famous coffee farm located in Heredia, whose red wooden gate contrasts with the white of the whitewashed adobe and the ocher colors of the dirt road. Its name was modified when it was acquired by the State for the Costa Rican Art Museum.
